When you install a small-scale installations of solar panels you create Small-scale Technology Certificates, better known as STCs. These are an electronic form of currency created by the Renewable Energy (Electricity) Act 2000. The size of your system determines the number of STCs you are assigned. The price on STCs changes according to conditions.
You can be paid for your STCs by either:
The feed-in tarriff means you get paid for any solar energy that goes back into the grid from your house. So if your solar panels generate more money than you use, you get paid for it. You need to apply to your energy provider to receive the feed-in tarriff but don't worry, we will help you take care of all the paperwork!
In Queensland you are currently eligible for 8c feed-in tarriff if you sign up today. Ask us for more information for how this can work for you.
*For those who signed up to a 44c feed-in tarriff you must have had your system installed before June 30, 2013 to secure this rate.
